Build to rent

Abbreviated as BTR and sometimes called Built for Renters.


Purpose-built housing designed for rent rather than sale. The development is owned and managed by one landlord, and provides additional services such as gyms and communal areas.

Built for Renters landlords are requited be a member of a recognised ombudsman scheme and have a proper complaints procedure in place.
